Sewn broached

A sewn broached finish is characterized by the hangovers being stuck together by means of yarn. Hot melt glue is then spread over these threads and quires and the cover is then glued around them. The book is then cut clean on three sides and packaged as desired. Sewn bound is the strongest way to finish a book.

Benefits

  • Firmly
  • Long life
  • Short time
  • Light open nicely
  • Weather and temperature fixed

Disadvantages

  • More expensive than a yarnless finish
  • Because there are more finishes, it takes a little longer than yarnless broached or PUR
