PUR bound

PUR and Yarnless broached books are identical to each other. The only difference is that PUR uses a different kind of glue that we apply to the back of the book. Then we fix the cover. PUR glue is more expensive but is also more firm than hot melt glue, which is used with a perfect book.

Benefits

  • PUR is solid
  • PUR is weather and temperature fixed
  • Long life
  • Works well at high grammage in interior work

Disadvantages

  • PUR is more expensive than ‘ordinary’ glue (hotmelt)
  • Curing PUR is very sensitive
  • Drying time for cleaning is longer than average
  • PUR is a hard glue, so your book stays less open
